Ah, finally, a new sample set to get you all through the weekend. And this one is a monster! Released in 1991, Breaking Atoms is the debut album from Main Source. This album is highly regarded thanks to the virtuoso production of frontman Large Professor, whose heavy and original use of sampling influenced hip hop producers for a good portion of the 1990s. Breaking Atoms is widely thought of as a very influential album and is notable for the debut of Nas on the track “Live at The Barbeque”.
If you’re looking for classic breakbeats, this is the sample set to download! Large Pro used them all and this set has some very hard to find gems. Some of the sample below are from the bonus tracks that were included in the 2008 rerelease. Out of 40 samples, there was just one that we were unable to get a hold of. Hit me up if you got it!
